  In some places this is getting better, but in others it's getting worse. I understand that there are a lot of cars in Chengdu, and there aren't enough parking spots. However, what really upsets me is when everyone on a street manages to park in a way that allows pedestrians safe passage on a sidewalk, but just one or two cars block the whole sidewalk so that people end up walking in the street. I've tried calling the traffic police but they never respond. It's usually businesses that park their customers' cars this way...are they bribing the traffic police so that they can break the rules? It's dangerous to force people to walk in the street, especially when other traffic laws aren't really enforced either.

  I don't know how you would compare it to before...I saw violence five years ago and I still see it now. Lots of traffic-related street fights, but I've seen those in other Chinese cities as well.

  Definitely my new Chengdu favorite. Finally a quality place to hang out in Chengdu that isn't a dive. Hands down best drinks and coolest owners in town.
