Chengdu > The Lazy Pug
懒巴哥My husband and I just ate at the Lazy Pug tonight. Totally agree on the previous post...best burger in Chengdu....actually, China. What restaurant has blue cheese??? The service was great. The drinks are strong and very tasty...had a few too many. Mojitos are made with huge, fresh mint leaves, fresh pineapple and malibu made me feel like I was out of Chengdu...Owners are cool and will most definitely be back for fish and chips this weekend!
The only bad thing was my driver had nowhere to park! He had to wait for our drunk asses while parked on the sidewalk in front.

Chengdu > Peter's Tex Mex
彼得西餐Haha...Dandoval we agree! Peter's Tex Mex is for Chinese who have the money and never left the country to know any better. The food is uninspired and thrown together. I ordered a reuben, only to be told 20 minutes later that they did not have it. Why not say something earlier...before my spouse was finished with his food? They told after 15 minutes or so it was on its way. Hummmm.... We are not picky, but some standards please... It is a restaurant that makes enough money to care anymore. And in a restaurant that is terrible. The drinks are terribly overpriced and have very little alcohol in them. It is not a fun environment to drink in anyways! Brightly lit, bad service and horrible music...gotta be a better choice!

Chengdu > Mike's Pizza Kitchen
Thank you! My husband surprised me for Valentine's Day with one of your...well two of your pizzas! We had been searching for just decent pizza after only being in Chengdu only a short time and then you came into our lives! He ordered a double cheese, pineapple, jalepeno peppers and chicken pizza. I ended up eating most of it! SOOO freakin' delicious. He ordered me a spinach, onion and artichoke pizza. We gobbled them down in bed...and then fell asleep satisfied needing nothing more! Honestly, you put love into your pizza and it shows. We will be very loyal customers EVERY Monday...and/or Tuesday. Thank you again.

Chengdu > Pizza Mandolino
披萨曼陀玲I wrote a review for Pizza Mandolino but it was removed...not quite sure why. My husband and I are new to Chengdu, after living in Beijing for years. We ordered the eggplant pizza which I do agree was delicious. However, the salad and pasta was horrible! The Caesar salad had chunks of poorly cooked ham and oily croutons. I would have to disagree with others about the atomsphere. It is cheesy and more like a Chinese tea house complete with barking locals! The service was unforgiveable! A ridiculous amount of staff, seemingly on break, were chain-smoking and playing computer games. The wine list was only for print not for actual consumption as they only had one by the glass for 68 rmb. Overall, the experience was depressing! With two Italians "running" the place, but clearly Chinese owned based on the ambience and the inability to give decent service, we will not be going back. We did have high hopes for the place as the ovens are nice.
