  I go to Carrefour tong zi lin. Also, Ito Yokado. Pete's texmex has an amazing avocado and chicken salad but they sometimes run out of avocado.

  Hi there Doo'ers, here's something not to do.....Go to V Club.
  They should call it YAWN club because it's sooooo boring. Zzzzzzzz
  And if you are a foreigner, don't work there, they will rip you off.
  I know from experience.
  My recommendation is to just stay away from that club, it's got bad juju.
  They copied Jellyfish bar if you can believe that! They have a big tank of jellyfish when you walk in and also hanging from the ceiling. And they ripped off my husbands bottle design. Then, to top it all off, they stole my ideas for a show and then sacked me.
  I have since been back to see there "shows" and took some friends with my free drinks cards (if you had to pay you wouldn't go) the music made them start to yawn and my Chinese girl friend looked really bored.
  That says it all.
  Rip you off, bad music, rubbish shows, seen it all before somewhere else only better.
  The only sexy girls are paid to be there and even they look bored.
  They should change the name to "Zzz" Club.

  There have been non smoking signs in my elevator since I moved in but no one pays any attention to it...Smoking in elevators is disgusting, smoking in taxis/cars/hospitals is disgusting. Any confined space that others have to in hale your toxic fumes is selfish and quite frankly gross. Especially for asthma sufferers such as myself. Bars and restaurants could be split in to 2 categories smoking and non smoking, then we could choose. People should have some where to go and smoke, I'm not a smoker but I think that smokers have a right to smoke in bars/cafes etc. They should open up Amsterdam style coffee shops in China....
  Why is it always all or nothing?

  Have recently been going to Peter's for the avocado and chicken salad, it's so good, I shouldn't really be telling you about it as they have limited avocados....lol I was shocked by how good it was and really filling. Nice to find a good salad in chengdu.

  I was overjoyed when my good friends Sam and Audry told me they were opening a new middle Eastern restaurant close to Hang Kong Lu, so I rushed down eager to taste the humus and dips (my fav part). I wasn't disappointed. The humus was really creamy, and the bread was home baked. I tried the chicken and rice, plus some stuffed peppers that were nicely spiced with cumin. Also, they had some wonderful spicy soups to try. The set meal is 69 rmb as an opening offer, but well worth the money.
  Nice shisha too, plus the decor is very relaxing and airy. I'm sure I will be a regular, especially because they will be selling kombucha....yippee.

  The soho cacaja is lovely, I'm never disappointed. Somethings could be improved but everything in China is geared towards satisfying the Chinese pallet not the ex-pats.
  The yoghurt....OMG Orgasmic.
  Deal of the day Wednesday...29 rmb for set meal....very filling and scrummy.
  Polite and smily waitresses that had a laugh with us. The Indian manager came out to ask us what we thought of the meal too which is always nice.
