Chengdu > Le Sud
南方法国餐厅Like many of the others who have frequented Le Sud, I am a massive fan of Julien’s restaurant. The food is usually cooked perfectly with attention to the slightest details, the pricing is fair and the comfortable yet chic modern atmosphere really adds style to the meal. A nice selection of imported wine, and a monthly rotating menu keeps the customers guessing and coming back. I would highly recommend ordering a dish which has lamb ribs or salmon; I have ordered these two frequently and each time they were, at the risk of sounding much too keen, absolutely divine. Cooked flawlessly and with the perfect condiments. However, (and I hate to criticise BUT) if you like real pizza this is not the place to go. While many of my friends completely praise the pizza, I was not happy. To start with, it was cold. Next, it was completely covered in cheese with no sight of any tomato sauce… where did it go? That having been said, I remember the crust was lovely. I also wasn’t a fan of the onion soup, too many herbs (rosemary in particular). Would I recommend Le Sud? Absolutely.
