Chengdu > The Beer Nest
I go here almost every day after I close my shop, and sometimes before haha...
It's the only place in Chengdu besides The Lazy Pug that I trust to sell me tasty REAL import beers. A lot of bars around here the beers and liquor give me a headache, I guess its fake, I dunno. But at the Beer Nest I know Deiter is charge of importing the beer so I trust it's real.
Good selection of draft beers, of course you have to try the 四川 (sichuan) ale when it's on draft. And every day or week has a special so there's always some deal.
Atmosphere and music also good. Funny to watch all the passing by Chinese children play in the spinning Beer Nest spotlight logo on the ground.

Chengdu > Mike's Pizza Kitchen
I tell u these jokers who are commenting on Mike's Pizza keep harping on by saying,This is the best pizza i've eaten in chengdu!Duh!First of all there is only Mikes pizza and the rest in chengdu.Second Mikes pizza is oneof the best pizzas I have ever eaten!Being a good canadian boy growing up with assorted junk pizza options and so called better pizza options,I would say Mikes Pizza is up there with the best worldwide.Nice crust not thick, not thin.Just enough cheese and tomato sauce.nice veggie assortment. As far as the the other pizzas at Mike I will leave that to the carnivours to relish. The Veggie pizza is excellent! There is no good pizza in china anywhere!Mikes is the best!

Chengdu > Jellyfish
A huge thanks for everyone that came down to the Halloween party and helped us re-phrase the definition of awesome! This was something Chengdu had never seen before. 1500 people thru the door before midnight when we had to close the gates for 2 hours in order to create more space inside the party. we would like to apologize to all the guests who were rejected. and thank all those that danced all night long and stayed with us until 6am. This party was nuts And will remain a part in the history books of the Chengdu parties!
Pictures of the madness in Jellyfish's new QQ account. Check back daily for more pictures every day!
love you all

Chengdu > Prince Kitchen
Had to upgrade to four stars. The chicken dish Laziji is extremely exquisite, the food quality and preparation of this dish makes me want to go there again and again (also the Kongpao chicken is great). Oh and since the recent reconstruction they are generously handing out discount coupons for your next dinner or afternoon dim sum.
Reserve a table next to the window with look down on dayelu.

Chengdu > Mike's Pizza Kitchen
Super pro pizza service with real western chef running it. Delivery is fast and customer service is good. Also, if you're in the neighborhood, his restaurant is small but pretty cool. I recommend eating Mikes pizza and then walking down over to Cakey Buttah for desert and coffee.
P.S. They delivered a margarita to me at poolside. Awesome.

Chengdu > Vin Restaurant
It's kind of sad that Vin does't get any reviews, for the past two years it existed. It is a beautiful restaurant/wine cellar. When we went there during the big national holiday, we were the only table during dinner time. I had a salad, a tuna tartare and a fish main course. The salad was very well mixed in light dressing, so the flavor covered every leafy and wasn't dripping liquid. The tuna tartare with avocado was very small portion but nicely flavored and presented. My fish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, served with delicious tomatoes. After-dinner espresso was hot and creamy. Food wise, I don't have any complaint, and I am very happy that I have tried something new.
The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service does not match with the 15% service charge I paid. The server was nice but he did have bad breath. He also gave me the wrong information about what's on the menu that was not available that night.
The restaurant is expensive, especially if you get a bottle of wine and have a few courses. (We averaged 600 yuan/person) But, it's not really a close by neighborhood restaurant. I think it's worth checking it out, if you have a special occasion or romantic dinner plan.

Chengdu > LAIN GUY PARIS
I am a black American living in Chengdu and was wondering where I could find someone to do relax (chemically straighten) my hair. I wasn't sure what I do, and then I went to Lain Guy. I provided the product and Mr. Guy and his assistants applied. EXCELLENT! I highly recommend. Not only is the whole team sweet and professional, the result was even better than what I'd hoped for.
