Agreed, problem is their cocktails. I ordered Margarita, taste like no alcohol at all. I asked their staff, she said she already followed standard of this bar. After some arguments finally she make me new cup, and I satisfied.
Atmosphere is good, music is great. Overall it's not bad.

Actually, I think they read the review about the cocktails and changed! I was there last weekend, first time visiting Chengdu.. and thanks to the Scavenger Photo Hunt super funny party ended up at Lan Town. Got a cider, had a look at the beer offer (not bad, but they could have more bottled Belgian ones!), then moved to cocktails (I would say quite cheap!).
I had a White Russian and a Long Island (my 2 favorites), my friends had Mojito, Tequila Sunrise, Baileys&Milk and another one I don't remember the name and I must say the alcohol content was quite good!
Anyway, good place, loved fuss-ball (and the owner destroyed me!!), owner and people are very friendly and a nice gang.. Definitely a place to visit again, if i'll ever be back in Chengdu!

Nice place if you can't stand Jelly or Paname anymore.

LAN TOWN is still a relaxed teahouse in the morning and afternoon but in the evenings it turns in to a bar and the customers after 10pm don't seem to care much about tea. beerLAO, Baltika and other import beers are available and they put up some big speakers for the occasional dance party and concert. still very little foreigners found their way to the "teahouse" but it's definitly a welcome addition to CD's nightlife. check it out! don't miss out on the crazy cool woman who runs the place...

A cozy corner near Sichuan University's east gate serving all sorts of teas as well as a more limited selection of coffee and sweet summertime drinks and snacks. Energetic, friendly owner will make you feel at home and talk to you no matter what language/s you do or don't speak. Clean, bright, and quiet during the daytime makes it an ideal place for 'net surfing or studying. Recently started bar service means it's a calmer nighttime respite from the thumping BABI II complex.
