- I read it is possible homestay in Tagong. Does anybody know how to get and contact/book in advance?

- You can stay with a local family, but it's 20rmb dorm and 50rmb double.
  Jya Drolma 0836 2866056. Only the mother speaks Mandarin and a little bit of English.
  Be aware many people get altitude sickness in Tagong.

  Do you know if western Sichuan is open to foreigners? I have to travel from Tagong to Manigango, Sershu, Yushu (Qinghai) in the second week of august.

  They don't have internet. Yes it is open I was in Tagong last week. You can always get a bed. Not many tourist going to Tagong this year.
