Outdoor gear...where to find it?

First off, ignore the username; it's been quite a few years since I've been in CD. Last go around (hint: Peter's Tex-Mex was still a business dispute away from being founded), there was the stretch of stores along Yihuan Lu @ Renmin Nan Lu, a cluster around Xinnanmen Bus Station, and a couple of hard-core places across from Wuhou Ci. Anything changed? Not looking for anything technical, just some decent clothing that might have been sold from the back door on the third shift. I'm going to be a bit pressed for time, so hopefully there's still an area for some door-to-door comparison shopping. Many thanks in advance to all the local experts!

i don't think there are more than 1 or 2 shops left near xinnanmen. most shops are still at renmin/1st ring road and wuhouci, but I can't point to a specific one as I think they are all freaking expensive and service not memorable.

The best selection is now around Wuhou Temple. I recommend Sanfo Outdoor for real gear (it's not cheap, but all genuine, a good selection and decent service), or Zhongshan Outdoor across the road (next to Wowo) for cheap knockoffs that don't try and pretend to be anything else. Sanfo also have a slightly smaller branch on Renminnan Lu near the bookworm. Finally Decathlon (by Ikea) is also a pretty good place for budget stuff.

If u r looking for decathlon, there is a shop at another side of the Ikea.
If u r looking for something unbrand and cheap, I can help u find those in Hehuachi.
