I will be traveling to Chongqing in early may for a couple days. I haven't heard very good things about this city. But I'm sure there must be a few interesting things to do for two days right?
Just looking for some ideas from people that been there and have had a decent time. Don't need any comments about how boring or dirty, etc that the city is.
Thanks!

I didn't like Chongqing the first two times I went, but that's a long time ago. Recently I started to like Chongqing as a travel destination for trips from Chengdu. You have a nice high-speed train connection (try booking 1st class so have a power plug next to your seat, also make sure you get to the right train station in Chengdu North or East!).
some articles
Chongqing
http://gochengdoo.com/en/blog/item/1702/chongqingCiqkou old town
http://gochengdoo.com/[...]Yangtze boat trip
http://gochengdoo.com/[...]The city's transport got much better, almost no cars no bikes, only skytrain/subway/light rail 3 quick lines and good efficient bus system (cheap, fast, good seats). Taxi might be a difficult to get right after the buses stop working (in case you want to go out), otherwise it's ok.
Apart from the above mentioned there is still a lot to see: old towns (Zhongshan), the underwater museum (under the yangze), cave & nuclear shelter in furong and fuling. The biggest attraction near chongqing imo the Dazu stone carvings, they are reconstructed and repainted, similar to the ones in Anyue (but in Dazu they are concentrated in one place and not scattered around).

^ what invisible said, plus it's a fun city just for the mind-blowing visuals and layout. if you're a photographer you'll probably love that aspect, and even if not there are so many crazy things just to look at and think about.
of the things i've been to in chongqing, i most enjoyed visiting the graffiti district & art school, the foreigner street, ciqikou, and the city planning museum (although my travel mates found the latter insufferably boring).
it helps to be able to read chinese so that you can jump on and off buses, or prepare beforehand with google map bus directions since that's an inexpensive and comfortable way to travel around the city.
do let us know if you find any decent food. in four trips there i can't remember having a memorable meal.

Wow! Excellent advise. I hope I can visit most of those spots. The Dazu stone carvings sound quite interesting! Anymore information is appreciated on Chongqing! Thanks everyone = )

Agree with everything @invisible and @hapatofu said.
@hapatofu — I was once taken by a colleague to a really cool place in an air raid tunnel a km or so SW of Chaotianmen on Chang Jiang Bin Jiang Lu. I could find it again but don't have the address unfortunately. Other than that the best meals I've had have usually been hotpot or BBQ on the street.

The restaurant is Zeng Laoyao Yu Zhuang, and the Dianping page for the original air raid tunnel branch is here: http://www.dianping.com/shop/531247
The address is 渝中区长滨路洞子邮亭鲫鱼 (221, Changjiang Binjiang Road)

I'm probably going to have to go to Chongqing now for the express purpose of satisfying my curiosity as to whether or not the statement that Chongqing has a good restaurant is credible.

Out of a maximum 5? I reckon that's pretty good. Dianpingers are a notoriously fickle bunch...
