Video: Chengdu parkour enthusiasts show their stuff

*

The video shows the local parkour group Chengdu Underground displaying their stunts on camera.

Parkour participants use city structures, such as buildings, walls, stairs, and railings as obstacles to be surmounted via jumping, flipping, vaulting, and so forth.

The activity first appeared in China in 2006, according to Parkour Net and seems to have a small but organized following in the country, with groups in major cities sharing videos of themselves and hosting events.

An earlier Chengdu parkour video from 2008.

    • Love the song at the beginning of the first clip. Anyone know its name?

      Cool moves, but Parkour on children's equipment seems to me to be missing the point......missing a few points, actually.

    • Impressive. Can't think of another 2nd tier or below city in China that would have this sort of creative counter culture interest... and do it well. Good old Chengdu, keeping it unreal.

      @Mike

      Sounds like UK dubstep to me. I'd also like to know who did it. Perhaps someone has that music recognition app on their iphone?

      Btw, if you liked this, you might like one I have been enjoying a lot recently. Here's the link url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cXDgFwE13g
