2010 in Colours. Le Café Panam(e) plus Hemp House team up with 3 DJs and Proximity Butterfly. Dress code: 2010 colors. Who you'll see there: Everybody, except the people who don't go out, or the people going to one of the parties below. Entrance: RMB30. Starts at 10 p.m. @ Hemp House
New Year Special: Return of Krautpleaserz. German Bold (better known as DJs Joe and Marty Be) bring their signature mix of dub, dubstep, drum n bass, and trashy electro with live vocals to Panda Club. It's heavy, it's loud, and it'll make you move. Who you'll see there: Club-happy local kids, electronic-music purists and foreigners who think they're too cool to go to the Hemp party because it's too mainstream. Starts at 10 p.m. Entrance: RMB20.
Grease the Musical. Shamrock continues their holiday tradition by staging a bar-setting interpretation of a popular musical. Get ready for lots of drunkenness, and quite likely lots of bare flesh. Who you'll see there: Family-type foreigners letting it loose for one night only. Starts at 10 p.m. Free entrance.
Forever Young Festival. Little Bar's annual rock-music festival takes place at the Kuan Xiangzi Square for the second year in a row. It's two days, so if you miss tonight's lineup, don't worry because you can always catch more action tomorrow: Just click the link above for both days' lineups. Who you'll see there: The city's diehard rock fans; groupies; curious passersby. Tonight's show runs from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Free entrance.
New Year's Shenanigans. Mooney's, Chengdu ladies' go-to place for an upscale Thursday evening on the cheap, transforms itself into a wild party place for the evening with free flow Tiger, draft beer, and house wines from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. House band Peachy will play favorite hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s and then DJ Sam I Am spins hip hop and pop tunes. Rumor has it a pole has been set up and pole dancers arranged. All tables are already booked; standing room only. Entrance: RMB90.
